Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a multisystem disorder affecting all body systems. Treatment often includes a variety of medical supports and equipment.

Duchenne affects your muscles—including those important for breathing. Lung muscles will get weaker as you grow older. There a number of equipment interventions available for help with breathing and coughing. Please be sure to consult with your physician first prior to making decisions about which interventions make the most sense. Below you will find a list of vendors associated with pulmonary care. Be sure to visit PPMD’s section on caring for your lungs for more information on care.
