Webinar: Understanding BiPAP – Why It’s Needed, What Gets in the Way, and How to Increase Compliance
by: Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy
The team at Lurie Children’s Hospital recently joined PPMD for a webinar to explore the important role of BiPAP in individuals with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy. We discussed why consistent use is essential, even when patients feel well, and the potential consequences if it’s not used over time. We also dove into some of the common challenges families face when starting BiPAP, especially around comfort and getting used to it, and shared some helpful desensitization strategies they’ve utilized in their innovative clinic.
