ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Join in the game! Coach To Cure MD is the perfect grassroots fundraising opportunity to combine your love of sports with raising awareness for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy.

Started in 2008 as a college football partnership to raise awareness and funds for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, Coach To Cure MD is expanding to include sports beyond football. Families are encouraged to promote community involvement in the fight to end Duchenne, holding fundraising events, going to games to cheer on their favorite teams, and serving as ambassadors of Coach To Cure MD.

Coaches, players and fans nationwide for every sport can support the cause! Promote your involvement by getting your local high school’s athletic department to host a Coach To Cure MD game, rally your community for a tailgate or watch party and see the magic happen!

Hundreds of schools across the country have embraced Coach To Cure MD over the last 16 years, raising awareness and much-needed funds on and off the playing field.

THE GOALS OF COACH TO CURE MD ARE SIMPLE

  1. Raise national awareness of Duchenne
  2. Raise money to fund research for a cure

OUR APPROACH TO REACHING THESE GOALS IS ALSO SIMPLE

  • Get your local high school or sports team involved – it can be any sport at any level!
  • Work with the team on choosing one game during their season to declare their Coach To Cure MD game!
  • Ask them to help promote it! Work with your school’s athletic director/department, have the coaches and fans wear red, work with the social media and marketing team, ask them to mention Coach To Cure MD during on and off-field interviews, and even ask the opposing team to participate!
  • Create a fundraising page for your Coach To Cure MD game. Share it out with family and friends!
  • Kick of your Coach To Cure MD game by hosting a fundraising event such as a tailgate or a watch party at a local restaurant prior to the sporting event!
