NEW: Livestream with the PAAC

What can you learn from the PPMD Adult Advisory Committee (PAAC) that you can’t ask Google?

Honestly? A lot.

Google can give you information, but it can’t tell you what it’s actually like to live with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy. It can’t share the little workarounds, the “learned the hard way” moments, or the tips that make everyday life just a bit easier.

That’s what the PAAC’s new livestream series is all about.

We’re bringing together members of the PAAC for real conversations about the topics that matter most to our community. It’s one hour, it’s informal, and it’s all about sharing experiences—not medical advice.

We’ll be streaming on PPMD’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, and everyone’s welcome—individuals and families living with Duchenne and Becker, clinic staff, and advocates.

First up: transportation and travel.

We’re talking about everything from driving with muscular dystrophy and getting a modified van, to using rideshare, flying with a wheelchair, and making travel (a little) less stressful. We’ll also share tips for getting to PPMD’s 2026 Annual Conference in Orlando (June 25-27).

Some of the questions we’ll get into:

  • How do you even get cleared to drive?
  • What does it really take to get a modified van (and pay for it)?
  • What should you watch out for when booking “accessible” hotel rooms?
  • How do you keep your chair safe when flying?
  • Any good travel hacks we should all know?

This one’s all about swapping real-life tips and learning from people who’ve been there.

Come hang out, ask questions, and pick up a few things you definitely won’t find on Google: LIVESTREAM WITH THE PAAC!
