Becker Muscular Dystrophy Webinar Series – Part 2: Cardiopulmonary Care
by: Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy
PPMD recently hosted the second webinar in our two-part Becker muscular dystrophy series, during which experts shared what families and individuals living with Becker should know about heart and lung health. Speakers covered important topics such as how often to monitor heart rhythm, why it matters, and what treatment options may be considered if heart rhythm problems occur. They also discussed managing heart failure in Becker and what to expect during transplant evaluation and care when needed. We then turned to lung health, highlighting how breathing symptoms in Becker may appear mild but still require close attention, especially during illness or hospital stays.
