Duchenne is on the RUSP, and Tennessee’s law requires that all newborns are screened for Duchenne by December 16, 2028.
In April 2026, Tennessee’s Genetics Advisory Committee formally voted to approve the addition of Duchenne to the newborn screening panel. Tennessee is expected to begin Duchenne screening all babies born in the state by their RUSP deadline.
