In May 2026, Oregon’s Northwest Regional Newborn Bloodspot Screening Program Advisory Board unanimously voted to move Duchenne to the next step in the evidence review process. Medical consultants will review the evidence regarding the impact of early diagnosis and treatment over the coming months. The advisory board expects to hear the consultants’ report at their December 2026 or March 2027 meeting, at which time they will vote on whether to recommend Duchenne to the state’s panel.
