In April 2026, Nebraska’s Newborn Screening Advisory Committee voted to recommend adding Duchenne to the state’s newborn screening panel. This recommendation must now be submitted to Governor Pillen for final approval through the state’s regulatory or legislative process before implementation can begin. PPMD will support Nebraska’s newborn screening advocates throughout these next steps.
