
This state is RUSP aligned: Pennsylvania has a law that requires the state newborn screening program to include all conditions on the federal Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (RUSP). Duchenne is on the RUSP, and Pennsylvania’s law requires that all newborns are screened for Duchenne within two years of its addition to the RUSP. Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Health have reported to us that they plan to begin Duchenne newborn screening by January 2027.
