PPMD’S ANNUAL CONFERENCE
The largest, most comprehensive annual, international conference focused entirely on Duchenne.
Each year nearly 700 families from around the world gather at our Annual Conference to learn the latest progress in the fight to end Duchenne. They also gather for support, strength, and camaraderie.
This is your opportunity to gain direct access to the people fighting everyday for children like yours and perhaps, most importantly, it is your opportunity to meet and reunite with families on a similar journey as you. There is incredible power and strength in connecting.
Save the Date!
The 2021 and 2022 Annual Conference is booked! If we can safely return to live, in-person meetings, PPMD will be traveling to Orlando in 2021 and Scottsdale in 2022. Not able to make it in person to the Annual Conference? PPMD will continue to provide a virtual option for families unable to travel!

PPMD’s 2020 Virtual Annual Conference
WEDNESDAY, JULY 22 – SATURDAY, JULY 25
Welcome to PPMD’s 2020 Annual Conference – Virtual Edition! This is an extraordinary time for our global community, as we slowly begin re-emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, our always resilient community continues to inspire and energize PPMD.
Though we can’t connect in person this year, there was no way PPMD could let the summer go without hosting our Annual Conference. So this year, we are gathering virtually! From Wednesday, July 22 – Saturday, July 25, we will be offering the kind of robust, informative agenda you have come to expect from PPMD over the last 25 years.
What can you expect from the Virtual Conference?
From clinical trial updates, to the latest advances in Duchenne care, to our work in Washington, D.C., and opportunities to engage with families across the country, this year’s Annual Conference will help you catch up on the incredible momentum still happening in our community while simultaneously reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. You will have access to leading researchers, scientists, physicians, clinicians, and therapists, just like always, and there will be numerous opportunities during the week of the meeting to connect with these experts virtually.
We’re also going to have some fun! The PPMD team is organizing a variety of social activities for the whole family so that your virtual conference has a few surprises, and some much needed laughs.
Take a look at what we have planned so far – a full schedule of events will be unveiled in the weeks to come. And we look forward to seeing you at PPMD’s 2020 Virtual Annual Conference!View the Agenda >
SPECIAL SESSIONS WITHIN THE VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
Newly Diagnosed Program
PPMD will be offering an amazing virtual support program for newly diagnosed Duchenne families as part of our Virtual Annual Conference. The Program will consist of a Virtual Meet & Greet with other families and some PPMD staff the week of June 22 (you will be assigned to one of the scheduled dates) as well as an interactive two-part Intro to Duchenne virtual session the evenings of July 9 and 10. You will receive admission to the full Virtual Annual Conference as well.
Teen & Adult Track
The Teen & Adult Track will include a virtual social and two closed sessions for teens and adults with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy ages 14 and over. Access to general sessions from our Virtual Annual Conference is included as well.
Teen & Adult Track programing is for ages 14 and up; individuals with Duchenne/Becker only.
