Help Fund Research at Sam's Day!
Hello friends!
Welcome to the Sam’s Family Fun Day fundraising website! When we started Sam’s Day three years ago, we really had no idea what to expect. We just had a goal to create a fun event that would help raise money for Duchenne muscular dystrophy research, in an environment that kids (and their parents) could also learn a little about Duchenne.
It has been a success on all fronts as we drew over 800 people to last year’s Sam’s Day and raised over $140,000 for research. Best of all, I think everyone had a great time doing it. Sam’s Day will be held on October 25 this year, and promises to be even bigger and better. This year, we will be joined by our new sponsor - Radio Disney. We added an hour to the fun, and we will be serving food from Chik-fil-a, as well as hamburgers and hot dogs off the grill. We have also added more fun for the older kids with a rock climbing wall and a bungee run. I hope you’ll be able to come out with your family.
Of course, I hope you’ll also consider helping support our fundraising efforts for Duchenne research. Although there is currently no cure for Duchenne, and relatively little treatment that has a lasting impact, we are closer today than ever to beating this disease. There have been more research studies and clinical trials announced in the last 2 years than there were in the twenty years prior. I believe medical science and drug discovery has accelerated to a point that it will be possible to cure Duchenne in Sam’s lifetime.
But it will not happen by itself. There are not enough kids with Duchenne to make this a profitable proposition for the large drug companies. Which is why we need your help. Our goal for Sam’s Day this year is to raise $250,000 for Duchenne research. With your support, we can continue this fight. We can make life better for Sam and the other boys with Duchenne, and make sure that other families in the future don't have to go through this.
You can donate on-line by clicking on the donation button below the thermometer, or if you would rather write a check, please make it out to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and send it to:

We appreciate your support!
The Fourth Annual Sam's Day is being held in memory of our friend and Sam's Day co-founder, Gayle Waltman. Gayle - we miss you.
