Hi All Friends and Family!
Again this year we are joining together to fight to End Duchenne! We hope you are able to join us this year for another .1k race in Grand Rapids, Michigan to raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). All of you who read this have a special place in our lives including family, old friends, new friends, co-workers, friends of friends, and mentors and we need your support. Logan was diagnosed with DMD this time 2 years ago and every day we fight to give him a better quality of life now and for his future. I hope you will join us on this one day to help us fight for a cure.
The event takes place at the B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 4th. We'll be arriving at the B.O.B. around 10:30 am the day of the race to pre-register and participate in some of the pre-race activities before the race begins at 12:00pm. Remember this is a looooong .1k race so remember to train and come hydrated!!!If you are looking for more details about the race please visit http://grpoint1k.com/
If you are unable to join us on race day you can always participate as a "ghost runner". Ghost runners are those that receive race attire and race bib just like if you were there in person + free shipping to anywhere in the U.S! Or you can simply donate to the team or support in your own way.
If you prefer, you may also mail a check, made payable to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, to:
Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy
401 Hackensack Avenue, 9th Floor
Hackensack, NJ 07601
(Please note that the check is in honor of Logan VanderWeele/Grand Rapids .1K)
All funds raised will benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (http://www.parentprojectmd.org) and go directly toward researching a cure. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible.
We have come to realize that with hope comes awareness, with awareness comes fundraising, and fundraising enables research. Research and medical breakthroughs are the hope we are counting on short of a miracle. Those with Duchenne are truly in a race against time as their muscles deteriorate further each day. Please help us put an end to the devastating disorder by joining team Logan.
Thank you, and God Bless.
Nick and Kate VanderWeele
