Chicago Marathon 2007
|
Please support this run for Nick!
Hello friends! On January 12, 2008 I will join other parents, family members, and friends of boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy by running in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. (After the full marathon in October, I'm sticking with 13.1 miles at a crack from now on.;) Your support of our family's fight against DMD means the world to us. Any support you can give to this cause is greatly appreciated. To those of you who have generously supported my previous marathon efforts, I thank you and hope to count on you to spread the word about Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and the productive efforts being made to change the outcome for boys affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
DMD is the most common lethal genetic disorder, affecting 1 in every 3500 boys worldwide. Although to date there is no cure, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy's dedication to advocacy and research is making a difference that could change the dire prognosis we were given when Nick was diagnosed with DMD at age 2.
Please share this site with your friends and coworkers. You can make an online donation using the Support Gretchen to left, or you can send a check payable to PPMD to my home address: W314S8986 Wigwam Drive, Mukwonago, WI 53149.
We are indebted to our friends and neighbors for their kindness and support.
Thanks,
Gretchen, Brian, Alex and Nick
