PPMD's Annual CONNECT Conference
July 17- 20, 2008 - Philadelphia, PA

Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy is excited to be returning to Philadelphia for this year's Annual Conference. As in previous years, the PPMD Annual Conference will bring you numerous presentations on all of the latest Duchenne research, clinical trials, new drug discovery, off label use of drugs, care and treatment updates and options other topics which deal with the overall well being of all those affected by Duchenne.

Once again we'll be holding our Run For Our Sons- ROCKY RUN. Join us for Rocky II as we run the 3 mile roundtrip course up the steps that Rocky Balboa made famous. Help us show the world that the Duchenne community is united, strong, connected to each other, and committed to find a knockout cure for Duchenne. Run, jog or walk with the PPMD community along to the Rocky anthem, and help us create a media event for all to see. Travel: Whether you travel by planes, trains, or automobiles, getting to Philadelphia is quite direct. The airport code for Philadelphia is PHL. Although we do not use a specific carrier or travel service, we have found expedia.com, orbitz.com and travelocity.com very useful. Amtrak (www.amtrak.com) services Philadelphia as well.

There are three options for travel from the airport to the Loews Philadelphia Hotel:

Option 1: Take a taxi. This is very simple. The flat rate is just less than $27.00.
Option 2: After claiming your bags, go to the Ground Transportation desk and use the courtesy phone to call Lady Liberty Travel. This shuttle services costs $10.00 per person. The Loews Philadelphia Hotel is the last stop, and it takes approximately 20 minutes.
Option 3: Take the public transportation SEPTA Regional Rail train R1 to the Market East Station. Once you leave the Market East Station, the hotel is across the street. Tickets for this rail service are less than $5.
