Run For Our Sons
In 2005, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy hatched a plan to recruit 20 runners for the Walt Disney World® Marathon. That year we wound up with a remarkable 86-member team, which raised $186,000 for Duchenne muscular dystrophy research.
Since then, Run For Our Sons has blossomed into an extraordinary community fundraising event, drawing hundreds of individuals and families, and raising over $5 million for Duchenne.
Run For Our Sons teams and fans participate in major marathons and half marathons around the country and inspire crowds to go the distance to end Duchenne. In towns and cities all over America, families, friends, churches, and schools host family fun runs, 5Ks, and 10Ks to raise awareness of Duchenne. Our website, RunForOurSons.org, makes it easy for runners, "spirit" runners, families, and friends to go the distance for Duchenne research and treatment.
Visit RunForOurSons.org to learn more about the numerous races we participate in, or how to join or support this program (even if you aren’t a runner!)
