Through a decade of intense effort, individuals with Duchenne muscular dystrophy can expect to live an additional 10 years thanks, in large part, to national investments in biomedical research and improving quality of care. The work being done at NIH, CDC, and FDA means we are getting closer to treatments that could stop or even reverse this disease and, ultimately, to a point where we end Duchenne. To help achieve this goal, the global Duchenne community gathered recently at Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy’s One Voice Summit to identify strategies that can produce even greater progress for the Duchenne and Becker community in a shorter period of time.
